Which massage should I start with?

Massage with Tracey

You have decided to get massage, it’s your fist time and with so many different types of massage available, how do you know which one would suit you best?

I would recommend discussing with your therapist where possible prior to booking what you would like to achieve from the massage. Is it relief of muscles tension, wear and tear, stress relief, a little pamper time or targeted support on a particular area.

Your therapist will be able to guide you on which massage would be most suited to you. This not only builds thrust between you and your therapist but will allow you to switch off and enjoy the massage treatment more, knowing that you are in safe hands.

If you can’t talk to a therapist prior to your massage treatment, I would suggest starting with a Swedish Massage. This classic massage gives you a taster of massage, your therapist can adjust the pressure accordingly, then all you have to do is relax and enjoy your massage treatment. I would suggest you book a massage every 6-8 weeks for regular maintenance and self-care.

A few reasons why massage is so important in your self-care routine is research has shown regular massage lowers stress levels. Improves sleep, lowers blood pressure (this is a knock on effect from lowering your stress levels) Improves circulation and much more.
